Hi. I'm a digital journalist who works at the intersection of audience engagement, tech and storytelling.
Right now, I’m the Director of Audience at Vox, where I lead the audience engagement team, Vox.com’s audience strategy, and oversee newsroom analytics, community/ crowdsourcing, and our presence on all existing and emerging platforms. I think a lot about how to balance growth and building loyalty.
Before that I was the Audience Editor at the Marshall Project, where I lead engagement, analytics and user research strategy. Before that, I was at ProPublica, where I worked on crowdsourcing investigations into patient harm and unpaid internships.
Earlier in my career, I wrote, edited and created multimedia content at PBS' Women, War and Peace and the Solutions Journalism Network.
I speak and teach on most of the above topics. I have been an adjunct at Columbia University and New York University. I also lectured and presented at places like the IRE conference, News:Rewired, and CUNY. Here's a webinar I did for NPR.
I graduated with an english degree from Brown, and have a masters in digital journalism and innovation from NYU. I'm also a yoga teacher. For my playlists, click the Spotify icon to the left.
If you'd like to chat with me about any of these things, please get in touch.
